In my opinion, journalist is considered as a sub-category of bloggers. And why is this? Bloggers in general are individuals who own a blog that is kept updated regularly. And from there, they are divided into a few sub-categories and journalist is one of it. With today’s uprising trend of blogging, a number of journalists decided to change their medium from analogue to digital due to accessibility, flexibility and convenience. However, there are limitations of what the journalists can write on their blogs.
Journalists have to keep their works in most unbiased form possible. The information they have gathered or given by their employers will be written in objective way as their targeting for a wide scale of audience. Also, journalists’ main goal of posting their journals on the net is to just inform the current world issues, updates, etc and they will leave all the perceptions and views regarding that particular issue to readers and viewers alike. In additional, their works are considered as records of world’s happenings. If they happen to include their own personal view or criticism in their posts, they will break the purpose of journalism itself.
In a nutshell, a few bloggers can be considered as journalists and those journalists who have decided to use blogs as their medium are also considered as bloggers. All in all, it depends on that individuals attitude of writing.
It's like a two way thing, a blogger can be a journalist and a journalist can be a blogger. It all depends on how you do execute the way of writing.
ReplyDelete1. a blogger can be a journalist ; writes a journalism piece and post it on the net, with the right consensus and no bias / overly personal outlooks
2. a journalist can be a blogger ; a journalist would turn to blogging as a way to express more about their opinions regarding a certain situation or etc

So in short, journalist are fact writers while bloggers write based on what they know or something based on what they want to create (gossips) rite?
