Why be stereotype?

Why be steoreotype? Why is it that one will stereotype for food, like the picture above but not as friends or so? Well, in my research on this topic, we might stereotype even without noticing we are. There are two parts in the stereotype, one is the generalized descriptions and attributes. For example, "black people", "africans", "Ugandans", and so on. One can find various examples, supporting an argument or indoctrinating role of media in a capitalist society in movies such as, Women, sports and film class. For instance, in many movies, we know how hard the main characters had to work in order to achieve their own goals. Whether it is a whole women baseball team or a young water-surfer, they all had to practice for a very long period to achieve the success. So why be stereotype even in media or like i just said, in a movie? Sometimes, i really dont get why people would want to be so racist and putting that in a movie just teaches the audience a bad thing right? It would be a bad influence to all the audience then!

Besides that, there are also stereotypes in gender. Well, many often say that the dominant one, the muscular one and the leader should always be the male. However, the female should be the wife at home, the one who doesn't have the strength to lead with their feminine attributes. In my opinion, i think that we should not be racist or so but as i research about stereotypes, i see that a lot of people are starting to accept it as it is. Well, i guess that's about it, do watch the video's i posted about stereotypes. Thank You.

  1. You got me reeled on with your saying on prejudicial on gender. Why do women, stereotypically, would have to be the ones who has to stay home and typically be the housewives that merely shows how meager their roles are? And why do men with their obvious masculinity be the ones who are dominant and therefore say, leads the way rather than women? This is what I don't get.

People see it as stereotypically apparent to be known that women are just a bunch of minx that secures themselves at home, waiting for their children and husband and sits around doing nothing. Thus, it leads to gender prejudice. This is what stereotyping does; they make us think without questioning that such circumstances may possibly lead to such worse consequences.

  2. Yeah, that is what i am actually saying in my post. Why do so many people think of it this way? Why can't the women take the lead and the men be the one who stays at home? I dont get it at all! People should think from a different way, different perspective or just open up and be different!
